The Monday Post W. 08

This blog post barely makes it in time to be a Monday Post, but today we’re all about shopping and thought that we would share what products we each have clicked home this evening. Most of these products we have tried out and liked so much that we wanted to repurchase them.

All of the picture sources and product info is linked in the title of each product.

Lumene Matte Oil Free Foundation
This is a favourite in both of our makeup bags. This foundation is a favourite in both of our makeup bags. It’s very blendable and can go from sheer to heavy coverage. It’s one of the better foundations that stops oil from ruining ones makeup, I can go a good 4 hours without any touch ups and that is more than I can say for many other foundations out there. I think we have raved about this foundation a lot over here but at least for us it’s really working!

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
This setting spray might not be any UD All Nighter, but for the price it’s pretty good. I’d love to see NYX do a way bigger bottle of this, because 60 ml goes really quickly for me.

Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo
There is nothing like a dry shampoo to save the day, even if the hair is clean it gives both texture and good volume, and ofc for those days when one really should have taken the time to wash the hair but didn’t. Dry shampoo has saved us MANY times over the years and we prefer Batiste to do so, this Blush one or the Volumizing is a great purchase according to us.

Biovéne Vitamin C 27% Facial Serum
This was introduced to me as a christmas gift from E and I really liked it, my bottle is  almost empty now and I decided to get myself a second bottle and E also made the very wise decision to purchase one for herself as well. Our faces will be brighter and fresher than ever this spring.

Kostar 5 Finger Nail Pack
It really feels like I’m not doing anything else than constantly moisturizng my hands this winter. The air is suuuper dry and the cold does not help, can’t wait for spring to come and warmer, nicer days! This mask will hopefully come in handy (ehehe) for a nice manicure/spa evening.

Mesuda Milano Invisible Skin Finish Translucent Loose Powder
A powder favourite of mine, it’s really fine though, so I always hold my breath when applying, I’ve inhaled this shit so many times and I can tell you it tastes really bad. But to press this on your foundation with a damp sponge holds the makeup in place for such a long time. The Lumene foundation and this powder + the damp sponge is the best base combo my face has ever had.

I think all of these products are the kind that you run out of all the time and need to repurchase, so of course we want good products for a reasonable price, there are products we are willing to put more money on simply because in those cases expensive might be better (like eye cream!), but these products are all affordable and we really think these products are great.

Have you tried any of these products?

BLOGMAS #12 – come shop with us/haul

Blogmas 2017

We went out shopping for christmas gifts the other day, and decided to snap some pictures while wandering around various stores. This is always some of our favourite things to do, walk around in different stores, look att all the new things and try to find something suitable for all the friends and family around christmas. What we also did was pop in to Arnolds for some Gingerbread lattes that unfortunately didn’t look as good in pictures as they tasted, haha – poor car lighting…

Here is a little collage of our scavenger hunt!

The shops were of course full of gift sets for everybody, we love almost everything Lumene and these from Freeman looked interesting, and this Glamglow, perfect for christmas! Oh, and we did smell the Harmonia scented candle from Lumene and you know what – it stinks! Not cute, even though it looks so pretty.

The Body Shop had so many diffrent gifts in all price categories, and they all smell nice. I love the shea range and that vanilla chai was one long-lingering scent.
Oh, these Korres shower minis, adorable, they would really make a good gift!

We also checked out the tea selecton and chocolates, super pretty. I would not mind having that green Clipper tin jar in my kitchen! I really like to buy luxurious chocolates as a part of the gift for people, I think it’s something you less often buy for yourself so it’s fun to get for others. The stores really had great things and I really wanted to pick up half of everything I saw! So, let’s peek at some of the things that actually made it home with us!

I really haven’t cared about my hair for months, I (unfortunately) decided to cut off my quite long hair into somewhat of a bob earlier this year, and now it’s finally growing back out so I realised that I need to start taking better care of it. I’ve been eyeing the OGX shampoo for a while and decided to try it out. I also got a basic L’oreal hot & straight heat protecting spray, because I use a flat iron every day and that’s gotta be hard on my poor hair. L’oreal had a new pre-shampoo clay treatment that’s supposed to absorb oils and impurities which sounded nice so I decided to get that one as well.

I got a little carried away with the rose gold theme here, hehe. I bought the L’occitane christmas ornament as a christmas gift, it holds 3 mini products and I just thought it was so pretty. Dry shampoo is always a must! I haven’t tried this particular one yet and yeah, it kinda just slipped into my trolley. I’m quite picky with my haircare and so far I like this.

Kicks has one of the coolest advent calendars this year, they offer their customers diffrent sales every day until christmas, and this particular day there was 50% off on this overnight mask from Origins, you might remember we have mentioned this mask before and now was the perfect time to pick it up. We also stocked up on some masks, both for face and hands. The Yes to tomatoes charcoal sheet mask has become a favourite for us both, also hands more than ever need that extra care! E also got this super pretty hand cream, the brand has been around for 65 years this year and I don’t know if this is like a retro design for the occasion but it will fit perfect on E’s nightstand!

Empties #3

empties3.jpg

As always when we do these Empties posts we each bring a bunch of empty products and shortly review them in no particular order. We just want to clear out that we are two persons with different skintypes. (J has combination/oily skin and E has super oily skin).
We try to be as clear as possible, but especially in these kinds of posts there can be some confusion since we don’t use the exactly same products and not always have the same opinions about certain products.

Essence Matt Blotting Paper 5/5
Super affordable blotting paper sheets, perfect to throw in the bag and does work really well to get rid of excess oil during the day. I’m always stocking up on these when I walk past an Essence-shelf in some store.

NYX HD Finishing Powder 3,5/5
I otherwise liked this powder, but it was so finely milled that it was such a mess every time I opened the lid, powder was flying everywhere. Not for people with dry skin though, after applying on my very oily skin even I felt a bit dry.

Essence Colour Correcting Liquid Concealer 10 pastel pink 3,5/5
This concealer really brightens the under eye-area, I feel like it somehow also makes pores look smaller. I use it on my cupid’s bow as well to make it look more defined.

Essence Colour Correcting Liquid Concealer 30 pastel green 4/5
This one has been in our Empties posts before, I still like it, it covers redness well even though the product is pretty lightweight and I repurchase it every time I run out of it.

Essence Eyebrow Designer 3/5
A basic eyebrow pencil that does an ok job. I’ve used up quite a few of these and it’s really affordable. Good for doing quick, pretty natural brows.

Essence All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder 4,5/5
A very affordable translucent setting powder that I usually keep in my bag along with the blotting papers mentioned above. This particular design is from last years advent calendar and I think they’ve redone the packaging a bit quite recently.

Avon Mark Magix Prep And Set Spray 3/5
Another classic in the Empties series, a basic setting spray that does an ok job. I’m on my last bottle atm so I would really appreciate any tips on other affordable, great setting sprays.

Revlon Colorstay Makeup Combination/Oily 4/5
This foundation is kinda hard to put points on because when I first started using it I fell in love, I thought it was the best foundation ever. After a while I started to feel that it didn’t do anything for me and stopped using it. A few weeks ago I started using it again and now I like it, I wonder if it might be a seasonal issue with it because I think it was during the summer I didn’t like it and that’s when my skin is at its worst with oils and all that jazz.

Lavera Repair Lip Balm 4,5/5
A very “vegan-y” lip balm, I used it every night before bed and it effectively moisturized my lips throughout the night.

empties3.3

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Oil 5/5
Still an absolute favourite of ours, easily removes most of the makeup when poured on a wet wipe and used before cleansing.

Philosophy Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser For Face And Eyes 3,5/5
A pretty basic cleanser that’s very kind to the skin, suitable for those with sensitive skin as well I think. I’m not a huge fan of this cleanser because I like to feel that my skin has been “deep-cleaned” and don’t mind using more heavy-duty cleansers.

Natura Siberica Sophora Japonica Night Cream 3/5
This was my second bottle of this night cream, I won’t buy it again even though it was pretty good because I’ve found better moisturizers for my skintype.

Natura Siberica Sophora Japonica Day Cream 2,5/5
I liked the night cream better than this, it felt like pores got clogged when using it and it didn’t mattify my face at all which is a pretty big deal to me.

empties3.4

Batiste Floral & Flirty Blush Dry Shampoo 3/5
We’ve used quite a few bottles of this dry shampoo over the years, it’s a pretty basic and not ideal for dark haired people, sometimes I feel like it makes my hair look kinda dusty and gray even though I brush it out as advised… I prefer the XXL Volume and Heavenly Volume ones instead of this.

Klippoteket Dry Shampoo 3/5
It was an overall ok dry shampoo, the smell was not too strong neither was it overly chemical. It gave my hair texture, though it was easy to almost overdo and apply too much product. Me being all blonde  did not have any problems with the colour but as a matter of fact my fellow crew member that happens to be quite a few shades darker than me, had a slight trouble with the product leavning traces. I used up this little bottle in 2 months.
